Lawyer, born in Genoa on October 4, 1959, expert in corporate law, M&A, capital markets, corporate crises, and extraordinary corporate transactions, including those related to corporate recovery plans.

He has also worked, and continues to work, in complex corporate and commercial litigation, as well as in corporate liability actions involving corporate management bodies.

He carries out his professional activity at the offices in Milan, Genoa and London.

Professional Experience

A student of Franco Bonelli since 1983, he was a founding partner of Bonelli e Associati in 1994 and, subsequently, a co-founding partner of Bonelli Erede Pappalardo, which he left in 2008 to found the firm Bettini Formigaro Pericu and then Wegal, where he currently actively works.

For over thirty years, he has assisted leading companies, both listed and unlisted, in M&A, debt, and equity capital markets transactions, as well as in extraordinary corporate and commercial transactions, with a particular focus on negotiation management and contract drafting.

He has also worked and continues to work actively in the field of bankruptcy law and, today, in the corporate crisis sector regulated by the current CCII: he has been a consultant in important insolvency proceedings and has been assisting leading industrial groups in restructuring and turnaround processes for years.

Specifically, in the corporate restructuring sector, he actively participated in the very first major debt restructuring processes under the previous bankruptcy law, contributing to the creation of the wealth of experience and practical innovation that later inspired the creation of the new debt restructuring legislation.

In recent years, as legal advisor to the debtor, he has managed some of the most significant (by value) debt restructuring transactions in the Italian market, engaging in the structuring of the recovery plan and collateral agreements, many of which were accompanied by significant M&A transactions.

It also operates actively in the NPL sector, both on the investor and debtor side, where it collaborates with the main players in the Italian and international market and in the securitization sector.

He has gained extensive experience in the real estate sector, particularly in the hotel and energy sectors, as well as in the utilities sector, where he has assisted private and public, national and international companies in transactions in Italy and abroad and in various mergers and acquisitions.

Finally, he handles litigation (a sector that marked the beginning of his career), with specific reference to corporate and civil disputes, both before ordinary judicial authorities and arbitration panels.

Attorney Bettini currently serves on the boards of several companies operating in the tourism sector and has previously served on the boards of directors of real estate companies listed on regulated markets.

He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Genoa in 1983, and has been a member of the Genoa Bar Association since March 1986. He is authorized to practice before the Court of Cassation and the Higher Courts.
